Boosting the economy, Funing is taking action | A total investment of 250 million yuan! The integrated project for the planting, processing, and trading of star anise in Funing is about to be completed and put into production.

In recent years, Funing County has regarded the demonstration creation of "one county, one industry" as an important task to accelerate agricultural modernization, coordinating and promoting it comprehensively, focusing on key and characteristic industries, strengthening factor guarantees, and continuously advancing the demonstration creation of the star anise industry "one county, one industry". The county successfully introduced Yunnan Zhongmu Agricultural and Forestry Development Co., Ltd., and started the construction of the integrated project for star anise planting, processing, and trading, promoting deep processing of star anise, while writing a new chapter in the development of the star anise industry and boosting the county's economic development and the implementation of the rural revitalization strategy.

Recently, reporters visited the construction site of the integrated project for star anise planting, processing, and trading located in the Naxie Park of Banlun Township, where workers were renovating areas such as the star anise cultural display area, star anise testing center, and office building, and installing and debugging related facilities and equipment.

Nong Jianfeng, Deputy General Manager of Yunnan Zhongmu Agricultural and Forestry Development Co., Ltd.:The integrated project for star anise planting, processing, and trading started construction on July 28, 2022, and has completed the star anise production and processing area, storage and logistics area, drying field, and star anise drying production line. Currently, renovations are underway for supporting facilities such as the star anise cultural display area, testing center, and office living service area, with 90% of the total project volume completed, and it is expected to be completed and put into production by mid-April.

The integrated project for star anise planting, processing, and trading occupies 105 acres in the Funing Green Agricultural Product Industrial Park, planning to build supporting facilities such as a star anise production and processing area, multifunctional trading area, storage and logistics area, star anise cultural display area, testing center, drying field, and office living service area, as well as installing star anise drying production lines, fennel oil extraction production lines, and deep processing production lines for fennel oil, with a total construction area of 41,332 square meters and an estimated total investment of 250 million yuan. The demonstration planting base project plans to build a star anise selected spike nursery and seedling base of 100 acres, and a standardized demonstration planting base of 10,000 acres, producing 500,000 high-quality seedlings annually.

Nong Jianfeng, Deputy General Manager of Yunnan Zhongmu Agricultural and Forestry Development Co., Ltd.:After the project is put into production and reaches capacity, it is expected to process 100,000 tons of star anise fruit annually, produce 25,000 tons of dried fruit, achieve an annual output value of over 1.6 billion yuan, and pay taxes and fees of over 21 million yuan annually, directly solving employment for 200 local people and indirectly driving employment for 5,000 people, thus promoting the development of Funing County's "one county, one industry".
